Following the official JAMB 2026 Policy Meeting on May 11, 2026, Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, has updated its admission guidelines for the 2026/2027 academic session. While the Postgraduate forms are already active, the Undergraduate (Post-UTME/DE) portal is entering its peak registration phase.
Undergraduate Admission Requirements (2026/2027)
To be eligible for the RSU screening exercise, candidates must adhere to the following:
- JAMB Cut-Off Mark: The general minimum score for RSU is 190. Candidates who scored below this are advised to consider a Change of Institution to other universities (like IAUE, which accepts 150).
- First Choice Only: Only candidates who chose RSU as their First Choice are eligible. If you didn’t, you must apply for a “Change of Institution” on the JAMB portal.
- O’Level Credits: Five (5) credits in relevant subjects (including English and Math) in no more than two sittings.
- Departmental Merit Cut-offs: RSU is highly competitive. Estimated merit benchmarks for 2026 include:
- Medicine & Surgery: 71+
- Nursing Sciences: 66+
- Law: 69+
- Computer Science: 57+
- Mechanical Engineering: 53+
Postgraduate Admission (Now Active)
Notably, the RSU Postgraduate form is currently available for purchase:
- Programmes: PGD, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD.
- Application Fee: ₦60,000 (Standard) | ₦50,000 (Sandwich).
- Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026.
How to Apply
- Portal: All applications are processed via the RSU eCampus Portal.
- Payment: Generate an RRR and pay the application fee (₦2,000 for Undergraduate Post-UTME) using any Verve or Mastercard.
- Data Upload: Ensure your O’Level results are uploaded to the JAMB CAPS portal. Indeed, failure to do this will prevent your name from appearing on the admission list.
- Slip Printing: Print your completed registration slip, as it will be required for the physical screening/biometric verification.
