The Senate of the University of Abuja has officially approved the immediate expulsion of 28 students following its 191st Regular Meeting held in early 2026. This decision follows a comprehensive report from the Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC) regarding various acts of misconduct. The University of Abuja expelling students serves as a strong reminder that the institution remains committed to academic excellence and moral uprightness.

Why the University is Taking Action
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Hakeem Fawehinmi, reiterated that the University of Abuja expelling students was a necessary step to maintain campus safety. The affected students were found guilty of several grave offenses, including:
- Examination Malpractice: Cheating and unauthorized assistance during exams.
- Cultism and Drug Abuse: Involvement in secret societies and the possession of hard drugs.
- Result Forgery: Falsifying ‘O’ Level results uploaded on the university admission portal.
- Criminal Acts: Threat to life, assault, burglary, and theft.
Certificate Withdrawals and Exonerations
Beyond the current University of Abuja expelling students, the Senate also took the drastic step of withdrawing the certificates of 15 alumni. these former students reportedly failed to honor repeated invitations to appear before the disciplinary panel. On a more positive note, the university exonerated nine students after investigations proved their innocence, while 33 others received formal warnings for minor infractions like hostel racketeering.
Final Instructions for Affected Students
The process of the University of Abuja expelling students includes the immediate forfeiture of all student rights. Those expelled must hand over all university property, including identity cards, to their respective Heads of Department and vacate the campus premises immediately. The management warns that any unauthorized presence on campus by these individuals will be treated as trespassing.
