The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise. Consequently, this nationwide rollout serves as the absolute final phase of the current UTME calendar before institutional admissions commence.

While the majority of candidates have already viewed their baseline performance metrics, a significant handful of students have been left in limbo due to structural discrepancies. Indeed, in an official management memo signed by the Board’s Public Communications Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB clarified that this special session aims to resolve all outstanding disruptions. Therefore, candidates scheduled for this makeup track must stay highly alert to lock down their center variables.
Who is Eligible to Sit for the 2026 Mop-Up Exam?
Because JAMB maintains an uncompromising stance on structural examination integrity, the mop-up window is strictly controlled. Accordingly, only the following categories of verified candidates will be allowed entry into the CBT halls:
- Technical Centre Failures: Candidates whose assigned registration centers suffered severe server breakdowns, power failures, or systemic network crashes during the main exam window (April 23 to April 29, 2026).
- Biometric Verification Glitches: Applicants who physically reported to their centers but could not be cleared by the automated biometric finger scanners, despite possessing valid registration profiles.
- Withdrawn Main Results: Candidates whose initially released metrics were completely recalled or withdrawn by administrative desks over unverified or cleared center infractions.
Crucial Warning: If you sat for the main exam successfully and your result was released, you are completely ineligible for this exercise. JAMB does not run a “resit” or upgrade option for low scores.
Important Dates for Notification Slip Printing
Furthermore, candidates must realize that the board will not mail physical notifications or center updates to individuals. On the other hand, you must manage your web profile directly using the official timeline metrics below:
- Slip Printing Commencement Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026
- Official Examination Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026
Step-by-Step Slip Printing Instructions:
- Navigate your browser directly to the official JAMB server portal link at slipsprinting.jamb.gov.ng.
- Select the “Print UTME Mop-Up Examination Slip” option from the dashboard.
- Type your 2026 JAMB Registration Number or the active email address linked to your profile code.
- Click “Print” to generate your slip, and ensure you make at least two colored photocopies for exam-day accreditation.
Why Main Original Result Slips Are Temporarily Delayed
Many regular candidates have voiced concerns regarding why the printing portal for the Original UTME Result Slip has not yet been activated. Notably, JAMB management clarified that because the UTME operates strictly as a national ranking examination, final score percentiles cannot be compiled until every single stream is completed. Consequently, the main result printing channels will remain locked until the board successfully concludes both the foreign-based tests and the June 13 mop-up exercise.
