Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) New Student Screening 2025/2026
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has officially released the schedule and comprehensive guidelines for the mandatory screening and verification exercise for students newly admitted into the 2025/2026 Academic Session. Therefore, students must strictly adhere to these instructions to secure their admission.
Official ABU Screening Dates:
First, the verification process divides into two phases:
- Phase 1: December 1 to December 15, 2025
- Phase 2: Subsequently, Phase 2 commences on January 6, 2026
Mandatory Document Upload via ABU Post-UTME Portal
Before beginning the physical screening, newly admitted students must visit the University Post-UTME portal to upload clear, scanned copies of the following essential documents:
- JAMB result slip
- JAMB admission letter
- National Identification Number (NIN) slip
- Indigene certificate
- Birth certificate
- O’level certificate(s)/statement of results
- A’ level certificates/statement of results (for Direct Entry candidates)
- Attestation letter or affidavit (if required)
Certificate Verification Requirements:
In addition to uploading documents, students must prepare to present authentication for their academic records:
- O’Level Results: Specifically, students need scratch cards or PINs; the university makes them mandatory for result verification.
- A’Level Credentials: Students must present original certificates, or alternatively, a certified true copy.
Post-Screening Steps:
Following the successful completion of the ABU screening 2025/2026, students will gain full access to the University portal. Consequently, students can now:
- Generate REMITA for prompt payment of school charges.
- Print the official University admission letter.
- Reserve a bed space for accommodation.
Important Bed Space Notice:
The University strictly warns students against the illegal buying, selling, or trading of allocated bed spaces. Remember, any student who engages in this prohibited activity will face severe penalties.
