The provost commended Governor Nasir Idris for following due process in establishing the college, noting that the institution has expanded healthcare education access and relieved pressure on the State College of Nursing Sciences in Birnin Kebbi:
- Relief on Existing Facilities: Eased the intake burden on the primary state nursing college in Birnin Kebbi while boosting the local health workforce supply.
- Geographic Diversity: Attracted applicants from Southern and North-Central states—including Imo, Enugu, Ogun, Niger, and Kaduna—demonstrating widespread regional confidence in its academic standards.
- Infrastructure Readiness: Equipped with modern teaching laboratories, a digital library, ICT centers, staff quarters, and dedicated hostels for male and female students.
- Economic & Employment Growth: Stimulated commercial activity in the host community and created direct non-academic and academic employment opportunities.
Management Appeals and Infrastructure Support Demands
While acknowledging government funding, Dr. Musa appealed to the Kebbi State Government for additional support to sustain academic momentum:
- Specialized Allowances: Implementation of rural posting and teaching allowances for nursing lecturers and clinical instructors.
- Security Logistics: Deployment of additional security personnel to safeguard campus facilities and student hostels.
- Pioneer Expansion: Finalizing preparations for the intake of the second batch of nursing candidates.
