The 50% Payment Rule and NELFUND Exemptions
The new directive distinguishes between students paying out-of-pocket and those utilizing government support:
- Standard Payments: Students who did not apply for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) must pay at least 50% of their tuition before the January 5 resumption date.
- Loan Applicants: Students currently processed under NELFUND are exempt from this immediate 50% UNIOSUN school fees payment requirement, pending the disbursement of their federal loans.
Strict Penalties for Defaulting Students
The University Management maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding late payments this session. Any student who fails to meet the UNIOSUN school fees payment criteria will face immediate academic restrictions. Specifically, the university will bar defaulting students from sitting for Continuous Assessments (CA) and Mid-Semester Tests.
