The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a strict warning to all prospective students. The board cautions candidates not to change their course or programme through any school portal outside the JAMB CAPS system.
Why JAMB Issued the Warning
According to JAMB, some institutions are persuading candidates with strong CAPS rankings to switch from highly competitive courses to less-subscribed programmes. This move allegedly helps those institutions admit other preferred candidates.
JAMB emphasizes that:
- All course and programme changes must be completed only via JAMB CAPS
- Any changes made outside CAPS are illegal and risky
- JAMB will treat unauthorized changes as voluntary actions by the candidate
- Investigations are ongoing, targeting institutions involved — including one in the South-West and another in Abuja
