The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has once again proven its academic excellence. At a press briefing held today, January 26, 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, announced that the institution will produce 111 First Class graduates for its 34th Convocation Ceremony.
The upcoming ceremony, which coincides with the university’s 43rd Founders’ Day, celebrates the hard work and resilience of 5,297 students across various disciplines.

Graduation Statistics: A Breakdown of Excellence
Professor Kuta provided a detailed breakdown of the performance of the 2024/2025 graduating class. The figures reflect the competitive nature of the specialized institution:
- First Class Honours: 111 students
- Second Class Upper Division: 1,525 students
- Second Class Lower Division: 2,341 students
- Third Class: 972 students
- Pass: 89 students
In addition to the undergraduate degrees, the university will also award 73 Postgraduate Diplomas, 633 Master’s Degrees, and 153 Doctorate Degrees (PhD).
Major Institutional Milestones in 2026
The Vice-Chancellor highlighted several achievements that have bolstered the university’s reputation as a leader in science and technology:
- Top National Ranking: FUT Minna is currently ranked the 7th best university in Nigeria and remains the top-ranked specialized university in the country.
- TETFund Grants: The institution recently secured a N1 billion TETFund Agricultural Commercial Farm Grant aimed at enhancing food security and research.
- Medical College Expansion: The pioneer students of the College of Medical Science and Health Technology have successfully commenced their studies, marking a new era for the institution.
- Global Research Funding: The university has attracted over $3 million in international research grants within the last academic session.
