The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finalized the Official JAMB Cut Off Mark 2026 during the policy meeting held today, May 11, 2026. Specifically, the board maintained the baseline for Universities at 150, while Polytechnics remain at 100. Notably, the most significant reform this year is the total exemption of Education and non-engineering Agriculture candidates from the UTME. Consequently, these candidates no longer require a JAMB score for admission into NCE and ND programmes.

National Minimum Admissible Scores for 2026/2027
Indeed, the following benchmarks represent the “floor”—no institution is permitted to admit any student who scores below these national targets:
| Institution Type | 2026 Cut-Off Mark |
| Universities (Degree) | 150 |
| Colleges of Nursing | 150 |
| Polytechnics (ND) | 100 |
| Colleges of Education (NCE) | No UTME Required |
| Agriculture (Non-Engineering) | No UTME Required |
Top University Specific Cut-Off Marks
Primarily, while JAMB sets the minimum at 150, competitive institutions have fixed much higher standards. Therefore, if you are applying to any of the following schools, you must meet these specific 2026 benchmarks:
- Pan-Atlantic University: 220
- University of Lagos (UNILAG): 200
- University of Ibadan (UI): 200
- Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU): 200
- University of Benin (UNIBEN): 200
- Covenant University: 200
- Lagos State University (LASU): 195
- Ahmadu Bello University (ABU): 180
Important Admission Policies for 2026
During the policy meeting, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, also confirmed that the minimum age for admission remains 16 years. Specifically, candidates must reach this age to be eligible for the 2026/2027 session. Indeed, any student who meets the Official JAMB Cut Off Mark 2026 but fails the age requirement or misses the October 31 university admission deadline will not secure a place on CAPS.
