The National Universities Commission (NUC) has formally approved four new, full-time undergraduate programmes for the Lagos State University (LASU), housed under its Faculty of Computing and Information Technology. Consequently, this development, effective from the 2025-2026 academic session, significantly boosts LASU’s focus on technology education.
LASU New Tech Programmes: The Four Degree Options
Specifically, the NUC approved these four new Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programmes:
- Cyber Security
- Software Engineering
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Data Science
Furthermore, the approval was granted following a comprehensive resource verification visit by NUC experts on November 3, 2025, confirming the university’s readiness in terms of human and material resources. However, candidates must note: The NUC’s current approval for these LASU New Tech Programmes is strictly for full-time study modes.
