The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of the Nov/Dec results for the 2025 WASSCE Private Candidates (Second Series). This announcement brings an end to the anticipation of over 65,000 candidates who sat for the computer-based examination across 370 centers nationwide.

Key Statistics and Performance Drop
The 2025 Nov/Dec results reflect a notable shift in candidate performance compared to previous years. According to the official statement from WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs:

• Total Candidates: 65,752 candidates sat for the examination.
• Credit Pass Rate: 42.17% (27,727 candidates) obtained credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Performance Trend: This represents an 11.47% decline compared to the 2024 performance rate of 53.64%
• General Performance: 51.69% of candidates achieved five credits with or without English and Mathematics.

The council noted that while the Nov/Dec results show a decline, female candidates slightly outperformed their male counterparts, making up 51.61% of the successful group.

• Online Portal: Visit www.waecdirect.org and enter your 10-digit examination number.
• Digital Certificate: Successful candidates can immediately access their digital certificates via www.waec.org.
• SMS: Text WAECExamNoPIN*ExamYear to the short-code 32327 to receive your results via mobile

Next Steps for Candidates
If your result is marked as “held” or “under investigation,” WAEC usually resolves these cases after the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) meeting. Ensure you keep your examination photocard safe for any verification needed
