If you are a graduate of ND, HND, NCE, IJMB, or JUPEB, this guide will walk you through exactly what you need to successfully register for the 2026 JAMB Direct Entry.
Phase 1: How to Generate Your DE Profile Code
The first step is creating your digital identity on the JAMB portal. This is done via your mobile phone.
- Open your SMS app.
- Type NIN followed by a space and your 11-digit NIN.
- Example: NIN 12345678901
- Send to 55019 or 66019.
- Cost: Ensure you have at least ₦50 airtime.
- Result: You will receive a 10-digit Profile Code.
Phase 2: Buying Your 2026 DE e-PIN
Once you have your Profile Code, you need to pay for your “form.”
- Visit any bank, use a POS, or pay via apps like Remita, OPay, or PalmPay.
- Provide your Profile Code during payment.
- You will receive a 15-digit e-PIN. Keep this safe!
Phase 3: Documents to Bring to the JAMB Office
Unlike regular UTME, Direct Entry registration MUST be done at a JAMB State Office. You cannot do this at a random cyber cafe. Bring the following:
- NIN Slip: Your original identification.
- O’Level Result: WAEC/NECO/NABTEB (Originals and photocopies).
- A’Level Certificate: Your Diploma (ND/HND), NCE, IJMB, or JUPEB certificate or Statement of Result.
- JAMB Admission Letter: From your previous institution (e.g., the letter you used for your ND program).
- Matriculation Number: From your previous school.
Phase 4: The Official Workflow
To make it simple, follow this checklist to ensure you don’t miss a step:
- Step 1: Prepare your NIN and active phone number.
- Step 2: Generate your Profile Code via SMS.
- Step 3: Purchase the DE e-PIN using your Profile Code.
- Step 4: Visit a JAMB State Office with all your academic certificates.
- Step 5: Complete Biometrics (fingerprint capturing) and photo.
- Step 6: Collect your Registration Slip and the required Reading Text.
Common FAQ: What if I lost my old SIM?
If you used a number for JAMB in the past, your profile is permanently tied to it. If you lost that SIM, do a SIM swap (Welcome Back) before trying to generate a code, or visit the JAMB office for a change of number.
