The Ministry’s strategy hinges on Safe Schooling and Learning Continuity. 1. The Digital Learning Ecosystem
The FME has deployed three primary portals, all meticulously aligned with the NERDC curriculum to maintain high academic standards:
- Learning Passport: A collaboration with UNICEF and Microsoft that provides free access to high-quality educational content both online and offline.
- FME Inspire: A student-centered portal that brings the classroom experience to mobile devices with over 18,000 vetted resources.
- FME Ignite: A dedicated platform for teachers that simplifies lesson planning and fosters national collaboration.
2. Modern Guidance and Support Tools
To bridge the digital divide, the Ministry is making Safe Schooling and Learning Continuity accessible through:
- Step-by-Step Guidance: New learner-support flyers and digital pamphlets help users navigate online platforms.
- QR Code Integration: Printed materials now feature QR codes, allowing parents and students to access portals instantly via smartphones.
- Psychosocial Support: The plan includes medical and mental health services to help students and teachers recover from the trauma of school disruptions.
Strategic Partnerships for Success
International development partners provide critical technical and financial support for this mission. UNICEF drives the Learning Passport initiative, while UNESCO and UNDP support teacher capacity building. These partnerships strengthen the framework for Safe Schooling and Learning Continuity across all 36 states and the FCT.
