Purpose of the Education Reform Bill
According to lawmakers, the bill is designed to:
- Ensure uniform academic evaluation across Nigeria’s education system.
- Improve educational quality and promote equal access to learning opportunities.
- Foster better accountability and monitoring between the primary, junior, and senior secondary levels.
The Senate explained that the law will help close long-standing gaps in academic progression and standardization, ensuring that all learners meet the same national benchmarks before advancing to higher education or vocational training.
