The university emphasized that candidates who fail to verify their certificates will not be cleared on the UNIABUJA admission portal, meaning they will not be able to complete registration or gain admission clearance.

• All DE applicants are required to validate their certificates/results obtained from previous institutions.
• This process is necessary to ensure that the academic qualifications used to seek Direct Entry admission into UNIABUJA are authentic.
• The verification is done through the JAMB NIPEDS (Nigeria Post-secondary Education Data System) portal, which serves as a central verification system.

Steps for Direct Entry Applicants

1. Visit Your Previous Institution
   • Go back to the school where you obtained your result or certificate (e.g., NCE, OND, HND, A’Level, or first degree).
   • Request official verification of your certificate.
2. Certificate Verification
   • Your institution will verify your result/certificate and confirm it through the JAMB NIPEDS portal.
   • An official email from JAMB would already have been sent to your previous institution, requesting this verification.
3. Upload and Clearance
   • Ensure that the verified certificate is uploaded and cleared on the JAMB (NIPEDS) portal.
   • Only after this clearance will UNIABUJA allow you to proceed with registration and admission processes.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

• Failure to verify your certificate will lead to non-clearance on UNIABUJA’s admission portal.
• This means your admission offer may be withheld or completely invalidated.
