JAMB Expands UTME Center to 1000 for 2026

Victor Uyanna — Fri, 27 Feb 2026 08:08:19 +0000

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board recently confirmed that JAMB expands UTME center to 1000 to improve the 2026 examination process. This massive growth represents a significant leap from the 800 centers used previously. Specifically, the board aims to reduce the stress candidates face when traveling to distant exam venues. By increasing the number of locations, the agency ensures that every student finds a center closer to home.

Revenue Targets and Infrastructure Growth

Furthermore, the board announced ambitious financial goals during its latest budget defense. The news that JAMB expands UTME center to 1,000 aligns perfectly with its ₦23.8 billion revenue target for the fiscal year. Consequently, the board expects to generate more funds while providing better services to the public. These funds will help maintain the high-tech equipment required for a smooth computer-based test experience.

Enhanced Security as JAMB Expands UTME Center to 1,000

Security remains a top priority as the board increases its physical footprint. Because JAMB expands UTME center to 1,000, officials have mandated stricter monitoring protocols for all accredited locations. For instance, every center must now utilize advanced biometric and camera systems to prevent cheating. This ensures that the integrity of the results remains high despite the increased number of testing sites.

Strategic Benefits for Candidates

Moreover, the fact that JAMB expands UTME center to 1,000 means shorter queues during the registration and examination phases. Because the board distributed these centers across all 36 states, congestion at urban hubs will decrease significantly. Consequently, the 2026 UTME should be the most accessible and efficient exam in the board’s history.

In conclusion, the announcement that JAMB expands UTME center to 1,000 serves as a major win for the Nigerian education sector. This expansion, paired with transparent revenue reporting, shows the board’s dedication to national growth. Finally, students should verify their assigned locations early since JAMB expands UTME center to 1,000 to make their exam day much easier.
