The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, has officially released the schedule for the JUPEB Orientation Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This orientation exercise is designed to familiarize newly admitted JUPEB candidates with the university’s academic structure, expectations, and support services.

UNIZIK JUPEB Orientation Programme Details

Venue: Natural Science/JUPEB Auditorium, Science Village, UNIZIK
Date: Friday, 14th November 2025
Time: 2:00 PM

All UNIZIK JUPEB 2025/2026 candidates are expected to be punctual and fully participate in the event.

Purpose of the JUPEB Orientation Programme

The UNIZIK JUPEB Orientation 2025/2026 aims to:

Prof. Carol Arinze-Umobi Appointed New Acting VC of UNIZIK

The Federal Ministry of Education has confirmed the appointment of Professor Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka.

In a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the Ministry stated that the appointment followed due process as stipulated in the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 2003, through Senate nomination and approval by the Governing Council.

Prof. Arinze-Umobi is to assume duties effective May 19, 2025, and will oversee the day-to-day running of the university for a maximum of six months or until a substantive Vice-Chancellor is appointed.

The Ministry expressed confidence in her leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, merit, and institutional autonomy in Nigerian universities.
